The house was built in 1990 on the site of the crofthouse that my grandfather built in 1903.
It is about 1 mile from the pier at Lochmaddy and is on an elevated site with wonderful views over Loch Strumore, North and South Lee and Eaval, the three highest hills on the island.
Heating is by storage and panel heaters and there is an open fire as well.
A huge variety of birds can be seen from the living room, including regular sitings of short-eared owl, hen-harriers and sea eagles.
2 single beds in each bedroom + 1 sofa bed for 2 in the living room/ kitchen
Combined kitchen and living room with views over Loch Strumore and Loch Houram
2 bedrooms with 2 single beds each (may be pushed together).

The house was redecorated internally two years including new curtains, and all the windows have been replaced in the past few years.
The original byre sits behind the house and bicycles and outdoor equipment can be stored there.
The garden is fenced and is very popular for sitting out when weather permits!
Red deer often visit in the autumn and winter and it is not unusual to see otters in the loch.
