Learn moreDun Eistein is a traditional family house in the crofting village of Northton in South Harris. The house is not on a croft but there is a small garden with picnic table, chairs and bench.
Harris is an island of contrasts in the Outer Hebrides and boasts some wonderful beaches. Although named the Isle of Harris, it is in fact the southern part of Lewis and Harris. The northern part of Harris is hilly, the east is rocky with numerous lovely bays and the south west is flatter with many fine beaches. Northton is a good base from which to explore the island and from which to visit some of the other islands.
The house is generally child friendly and games, books and DVDs are available for your use. There is a small range of wellington boots (the sun doesn’t always shine!), buckets and spades in the porch.
Oil central heating, which is included in the cost as well as electricity, ensures a warm, comfortable home.
There is no terrestrial TV reception but satellite is available. Wireless internet included.
One King sized bedroom, one double bedroom, the third room can be made up as a double or a twin room, child's room with bunk bed - all located upstairs.
Accommodation on the ground floor consists of a well equipped kitchen with electric range, washing machine, dishwasher, tumble drier, fridge freezer and microwave with dining room off. There is also a lounge, sitting room and shower room.
On the upper floor are two double bedrooms, one twin bedroom, one bunk bedroom and bathroom. Extra single folding bed available. Beds have continental quilts and all bed linen and towels are provided, but you are free to bring your own if you wish. Guests will be required to make and strip the beds in light of the Covid-19 pandemic.
There is a small garden with picnic table, chairs and bench. The property is situated in a crofting village, with ponies, sheep, cows and poultry nearby.

A gem of a property, fantastic location and good value for money. Easy walking to nearby beaches and the Temple Cafe. We would definitely return.

The house was excellent with lots of space for a family. Location was perfect for us and the communication with the owner was great. Kitchen was well equipped and we had lots of space in the dining room for high chair. Would definitely stay there again.
