Our Eala room is on the ground floor and has two single beds which can be joined together to make a double. This room and its en-suite shower room are fully wheelchair accessible.
Communal kitchen facilities are available, in addition to a cèilidh space. For those who are not familiar, cèilidh is a Scottish Gaelic word for a gathering, from the root ri chèile; to come together. People come together to share songs, poetry, music and to pass on stories. What better way to get to know your fellow guests, and truly immerse yourself in the island experience.
Named after the Gaelic word for swan, eala (pronounced ya-la). Listen for the sound of the whooper swan - an eala bhàn - and look out for them on Loch Grinneabhat, Loch Òrdais and Locha Dhubh in Bragar and Loch na Muilne in Arnol. They arrive in September from their Icelandic breeding grounds and winter here, with occasional birds staying on moorland lochs for the summer months.
